The first step for ALL products is to obtain a Token from the Broadcom Support Portal.
You can follow the steps below to download the token from the Broadcom Support Portal.
Note:
Before proceeding, it’s important to note that users must have valid Broadcom Support Portal credentials and be associated with a Site ID that includes entitlements for VCF software.
Starting March 31, 2025, Broadcom has introduced a change in permissions: only users assigned the Product Administrator role can generate download tokens for their Site ID.
Within most organizations, access and role management in the Broadcom Software Portal is handled by a designated User Administrator. This administrator is responsible for assigning roles, including the Product Administrator role, to the appropriate individuals. Once assigned, these users gain the ability to create unique download tokens required for accessing VCF software.
If your organization has multiple environment owners under a single Site ID, this new role-based capability makes it easier to control and delegate who can generate download tokens.
For more details and step-by-step guidance, refer to the following Broadcom KB articles:
Manage user permissions and Site ID access as a User Administrator – explains how a User Administrator can grant the Product Administrator role.
Request the Product Administrator role to manage Portfolio License Agreement (PLA) products – outlines the process for requesting Product Administrator access if needed.
Login to Broadcom Support Portal
Use the dropdown next to Username and select VMware Cloud Foundation.

Select "My Dashboard" pane on the top left side.

In the bottom right side of the screen, select "Generate Download Token" under "Quick Links"
Note: The "Generate Download Token" button will only appear if the user has the Product Administrator role. Access and additional portal roles to the Broadcom Software Portal is typically managed by a designated User Administrator. The User Administrator can apply the Product Administrator role to the necessary individual(s) who will then have the ability to generate unique tokens to be used for software downloads for their site.

Pick the correct Site and click "Generate". When generating a token, there is now an additional (optional) description that can be used to track why a token may have been generated
Note: Tokens will not be valid for a short duration after creation.
